Jamie Mohammed Death, Obituary – After an extensive 24-day search, the body of 44-year-old Jamie Mohammed, who had been missing from Mendez Village in Siparia, Trinidad and Tobago, has been found. Mohammed was last seen on October 18 when her common-law husband reportedly dropped her off at a bar on Coora Road Junction in Siparia. According to family members, she had gone out to socialize with friends but never returned home, sparking growing concern and ultimately a search effort involving the community and local authorities.
Mohammed’s family, alarmed by her absence, filed a missing person report at the Siparia Police Station after days of attempting unsuccessfully to contact her by phone. Three days after her disappearance, her husband notified relatives that she hadn’t returned, prompting them to seek further assistance. The Hunters Search and Rescue Team joined the search, canvassing local areas and revisiting locations where she was last seen. Witnesses at the bar reported that Mohammed had left around 3 a.m. to find a taxi home, but no additional information about her movements afterward was uncovered.
Evelyn Chatoo, Mohammed’s sister-in-law, expressed that it was uncharacteristic for Mohammed to stay away from family without contact. The prolonged lack of communication led relatives to fear the worst, as they maintained hope but acknowledged the gravity of the situation. Community members and volunteers joined efforts to locate Mohammed, emphasizing the tight-knit nature of the Mendez Village community.
After several weeks of searching, Mohammed’s body was discovered in the Murray Trace area. Investigators are now working to piece together her final movements and determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Law enforcement officials have yet to release specific details on the cause or manner of her death, pending further investigation. Authorities continue to appeal to the public for any information that may help clarify the events of October 18 and her subsequent disappearance.
